PUSHING TO THE FRONT
etc.? Did you feel like turning off your phone and just staring at the TV
for countless hours to distract yourself from the way you feel – then
went to bed really exhausted? You might be overwhelmed.
To deal with the ‘overwhelm’ factor, you need to prioritize your life.
I prioritize my businesses and functions, depending on how much I
enjoy each one and the consequences each one poses. For example, I
have found that if I have an issue in my real estate business, I wouldn’t
be able to do any other work until I resolve that issue. This is because
I have most of my net worth in that business, and I need to ensure that
it is working 100% before I can work on anything else. I have now
prioritized all my businesses, job, family, friends, fun activities …etc.
I enjoy my work better now and I can shift gears quickly to where my
attention is required.
So, when you feel overwhelmed, ask yourself what is the most critical
thing right now that is bothering you – and schedule time to work on
that before anything else. If you cannot find an answer to that question,
ask yourself what is the most enjoyable thing you could work on right
now – and schedule time to go and do that right away.
“The key is not to prioritize what is on the schedule, but to
schedule your priorities.”
certain point, we fail that course. However in business and in real life,
there is no fail. There is only learning from mistakes. If you make a
goal, and you don’t achieve it, then you already have made progress in
your life by thinking of the goal, and by thinking of how to achieve it.
Making the goal in itself means you already passed; now, depending on
how much you work, you get a score of A, B, C, ...etc.
For example, if you make a goal to increase your salary by $1,000, then
you should rate your progress towards that goal appropriately. For example:
A – if you achieve it all, B – if you achieve 66% of it, and C – if
you achieve 33% of it – or any similar combination (maybe a D for no
achievement). Remember you should already be happy you made the
