behind legitimate concern for your best interests. Family members are
a common example, as their guidance is heartfelt. They lack the same
passion for your dream, so their input is based on their perspective –
not yours. Their vantage point is ordinary while yours is extraordinary!
Complacency is contagious! It’s imperative to ignore negativity and
when possible, avoid it. While it is easier to retain the status quo, …it’s
much more rewarding to strive to improve and ultimately exhilarating
to achieve a self-established goal.
A dream strived for, but not achieved, is still more fulfilling than making
no attempt to attain it.
Hey, nobody said success would come easy! How many times have you
heard that line? Well, unfortunately, it’s true. Challenges are part of the
package for conquering complacency.
It’s been said that challenges build character. I’ve personally been
through some times that were so trying, it felt like I wasn’t just building
character, …but actually becoming one!
This may come as a surprise, but not all obstacles can be overcome.
There are two types of road blocks: ones that we can get around, over
or through, and ones we can’t. For the barricades with a green light:
step on it! On the other hand, use caution with the ones that stop us in
our tracks as they are there for a reason.
Sometimes there is a lesson to be learned in our need to think or act
differently than we normally would have, had we not been redirected.
Have you ever taken a detour off a common route and then realized that
it was a more efficient way to go? It’s the same principle.
Other times, a challenge has to happen in order for the next opportunity
to become apparent. Isn’t it awesome when we can clearly see the good
that comes from something that we previously wished had never happened?
It’s funny how hindsight always has perfect vision.
The road to success is paved with obstacles. Don’t let them cause you
to make a U-turn or pull over and put up a white flag! Stay the course...
the finish line is worth crossing!
