We turned from poor kids to rich men in an instant. Don’t get me wrong,
there was, is, and always will be a lot of hard work, dedication, selfdiscipline,
and failure in reaching and surpassing our goals. However,
once we stopped filtering everything through the lenses of generational
poverty and environmental circumstance, we were able to focus our entire
vision on a reality that had only been in our dreams. Once I stopped
the record that was on repeat in my head – that was saying, “Forest,
you aren’t good enough and you will always be poor,” I could hear my
mom’s voice clearly saying, “You can be anything and do anything
that you set your mind to.” She was right. I am happier, wealthier, and
more fulfilled than I ever dreamed possible. I look forward to every day
and every challenge because I am equipped to handle whatever comes
my way, good or bad. I am not special, I have simply adopted the time
tested and proven principles and disciplines that I have discussed here.

yourself to the front of your field and then be committed to the discipline
and effort that it takes to accomplish that goal.
