eficiencia del quemador de diesel .y la secadcra de 53% respecto a la eficiencia te6rica del sistema, y de 34.5% de eficioncia del horno de cascarilla*y la secadora como un sistema respecto a la eficiencia travs del mismo. Esto da una idea de que el sistema de secado de arroz por lo menos en la forma que lo hacen estas arroceras no es muy eficiente. El ahorro de diesel que registran cada una de estas arrocerias es conside rable y se estima en aproximadamente 381 350 litros/afio de diesel C2 402 barriles) (ver apendice) para Arrocera Los Sauces, 338 975 litros/afio (2 135 barriles) para Arrocera La Gilda. De etos resultados se desprende que al haber sustituido el diesel por la cascavi- la de arroz han hecho una oontribuci6n al ba lance energetico nacional. Arrocera Costa Rica una de las grandes del pals cambi6 los quemadores de diesel por quemadores de bunker, de acuerdo a sus informaciones el gasto pare la producci6n de 18 000 ton de arroz en grao es de 300 000 litros/aho de bunker (1 900 barriles). Com se explic6 anteriormente el residuo de cascara de arroz ss vende totalmnte a los fabricantes de alimento para ganado y es usado para relleno. Existen varias arroceras pequefias en esta zona que algunas usan diesel y otros hornos de quemar cascarilla, no se procedi6 a encuestar estas indus trias debido al porcentaje que representan en el total de la producci6n del Valle Central. Los resultados explicados anteriormente pueden ser explicados en la sliguiente tabla.
