CONAPROSAL La industria tiene como actividad la refinaci6n de sal, y es unica en su ra mo, es realmente basico para la actividad productiva del pals ya que la sal refinada es usada por una cantidad apreciable de industrias principalmente alimentos. La situaci6n de la empresa debido a su ubicacion en Colorado de Abangares es muy caracteristica, dado que no cuentan con el sistema interco nectado de electricidad, por lo que deben generar su propia energia el'ctri ca, esto lo hace con plantas de generaci6n a diesel. Una con capacidad de 175 kW modelo 3408 Carterpillar y otra con capacidad de 3306, Carterpillar. El gasto promedio de energla electrica es satisfecho por la planta de 175 kW con un gasto de diesel de 1600 a 1300 litros por dia. Los requerimientos de vapor son considerables para lo cual cuenta con una caldera de 600 HP (de acuerdo con los encargados) de origen aleman y marca TEN HORN. En lo referente a las libras de vapor po hora generadas existen contradieciones, pero estan seguros que gastan de 5 a 6 m 3 de agua por hora lo que equivaldria a 6000 Kgr de vapor/hr 6 13 200 libras/hora a una presi6n de 10Kg/cm 2 (vapor saturado). El gasto de bunker es de 6000 a 8000 litros/ d'a. La planta trabaja 20 dlas/mes y 24 horas/dia. El vapor es consumido en la planta y el retorno'es casi cero por lo que el gasto en elementos quimicos para tratamiento de agua es grande. La planta tiene una capacidad de refinaci6n de 2500 kilos/hora, y actualmen te estan refinando 2000 kilos/hora. El precio de los derivados de petr6leo los afecta bastante, debido al consu mo que tienen, ellos estiman que el peso del combustible entre diesel y bun ker asciende al 20% del precio de la sal refinada. Ellos cuentan con una Gnica caldera, por lo que estan procesando en una que queme desechos s6lidos, coma alternativa de seguridad para las de bunker. La Gerencia de la empresa mostr6 graLu interes en los sistemas propuestos,
