The light
Beyond hope,
the light
of a shovelful of snow
on my writing desk
would suffice
to write a poem…
A line
After I named the floor
object of adoration,
I would cling to anything.
I would remember van gogh’s painting
On the Threshold of Eternity,
one of those desperate and sterile nights
I would burn
like an anonymous giordano Bruno,
my life would blaze
on the white paper
and suddenly,
unexpectedly,
as from a manger,
a line would be born!
