Maarten Gielen is designer, manager
and researcher of the Brusselsbased
collective Rotor, composed of
people who share an interest in
material flows in industry and construction.
Rotor takes care of the
conception and realization of design
and architecture projects and
develops critical positions on design,
material resources and waste
through research, exhibitions,
writings and conferences.
Gaspard Geerts, Architect, joined
the Rotor team in 2018 as a project
manager for several design, exhibition
and research projects. Graduating
in 2018 from the Department
of Architecture La Cambre Horta of
the Free University of Brussels, he
dedicated his final project and
thesis to an alternative housing
neighbourhood in the south of Brussels
where he was born and lived.
Jonas Läufer, Architect, joined the
team in Karlsruhe as teaching assistant.
He graduated in 2022 at
the Department of Architecture at
the TU München. The topic of his
thesis was the conversion of
Dreisamsta dion in Freiburg with the
reuse of local resources. Beginning
2021 he co-founded Baukreisel, a
young collective with the motivation
to keep material in cycle.
