Synthesis
The “synthesizer” project originally
started out as two different
group works, the “Hang and Loose”
and the “Open Stage” group.
Hang and Loose
What - Transformation of the monofunctional
Kaiserstraße to a
place for social interaction.
How - Placing doubleswings on
existing elements
Result - Need for playful and free
chillout spaces for teenagers in
the city center.
Open Stage
What - The results of the analysis
showed that there is a lack of
community and personality in the
street due to a dominiating commercial
structure.
How - Encouraging interaction
between strangers with music
and dancing as a form to express
feelings.
Result - Many people enjoyed
the intervention and would like
to see more art in Kaiserstraße.

What - How can we create a free
and playful space for the neighborhood
which is a attractive hangout
spot especially for teenagers?
How can we design a flexible space
that opens up opportunities
for a variety of art performances
which create interactions between
strangers?
How - Our project is a modular system
of three differents elements
which can be connected in various
ways. With this system we are able
to create many different shapes
that are able to fulfill several functions.
This includes different playful
hangout activities and a variety
of stages depending on the activity
allowing performance and gatherings
in Kaiserstraße. The system
is not bound to a certain location.
The different elements can be assembled
and disconnected in any
public place.
