Guidelines for Authors
In accordance with the following guidelines, the journal of Thaqafat welcomes for
publication research papers and specialized academic studies in areas of cultural
studies, cultural anthropology, everyday life sociology, political economy, media theory,
film studies, new historical and philosophical studies, critical theory, studies of Islamic
societies, gender and feminism, multiculturalism, politics of identity, post colonialism,
postmodernism, and studies of the other, marginal-minority groups.
I. General Guidelines
1.The Journal invites for publication previously unpublished original research papers
and academic studies in Arabic and English. A paper, once accepted for publication,
may not be published in another journal without obtaining in advance the written
consent of Journal's editor-in-chief.
2.The Journal also welcomes reviews, book reviews, commentaries, and followup
reports on conferences, seminars and other academic activities falling within
its areas of interest. It also invites objective critiques of studies and opinions
published on its own pages or in other journals and periodicals and similar scientific
publications.
3.The Journal furthermore invites abstracts of academic theses and dissertations for
which degrees have been awarded provided subject of such works is in the field
of Cultural studies and the abstracts are prepared and submitted by the author
themselves.
4. All manuscripts submitted for publication must be accompanied by two abstracts in
Arabic and English, not exceeding 200 words each.

II. Manuscripts
1. A research paper submitted for publication should not exceed 40 pages written in
disk copy IBM compatibles. It must be thoroughly revised and fir for publication. All
pages of the manuscript should be consecutively numbered. Charts, diagrams and
illustrations should be similarly numbered.
