ATS97, Antenna Diagnostic
This command indicates the status of the antenna physical connection to the H24 RF connector.
This information is also provided by a dedicated hardware signal, which is output on pin 41
(ANT_DET) of the interface connector.
Note: Before use ATS97 command, antenna type shall be determined. (see See
“+MUANTYPE, Set the Type of Antenna Used”). Improper antenna type determination
may cause wrong antenna status report.
Three antenna types are supported:
• Type 0: Infinite Impedance Type - IIT (Active resistance is > 3.1 MOhm).
• Type 1: Medium Impedance Type - MIT ( 6.8 KOhm < Active resistance is < 3.1 MOhm).
Medium Impedance type is divided into two subtypes:
• Medium-Low Impedance antenna - MLI (< 310 Ohm approximately);
• Medium-High Impedance antenna - MHI (> 310 Ohm approximately);
• Type 2: Zero Impedance Type - ZIT (Active resistance is < 6.8 KOhm).
Limitations
1. For Type 0: Only "Grounded" state is recognizable - Other states will be reported as a
"Normal".
2. For Type 1: All statuses may be recognized.
3. For Type 2: Only "Disconnected" state is recognizable - Other states will be reported as a
"Normal".
These limitations refer to both: ANT_DET pin state and response to ATS97 command (see
below).
ANT_DET
Pin 41 on 70 pin connector reflects antenna state.
1. When antenna state is "N" - Normal, ANT_DET pin is HIGH (2.6V).
2. When antenna state is "D" - Disconnected or "G" - Grounded, ANT_DET pin is LOW (0V).
Report delaying
ANT_DET report may be delayed by 4 sec max. Such a delay is relevant only for Medium
Impedance Type - MIT (Type 1) and depending on both: antenna sub-type and status change.
The cases of such a delay are signed by "delayed" in the table below.
