In conclusion, the type of oil, not only the total fat content, d<strong>et</strong>erm<strong>in</strong>es the overall impact and this is<br />

ma<strong>in</strong>ly due to the differ<strong>in</strong>g yields of the various oil crops and hence the land occupation level. In addition,<br />

the production system of the various oil crops (annual vs. permanent crops) and the sourc<strong>in</strong>g region (biome)<br />

have a significant effect on the contributions to the impact categories, as expla<strong>in</strong>ed below.<br />
