1 GENERAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT1.1.3.2.3 School Administrative ManagerIn addition to the responsibilities <strong>of</strong> a school administrative <strong>of</strong>ficer, aschool administrative manager in a school with more than one effectivefull time school administrative <strong>of</strong>ficer is responsible to the principal for theefficient management <strong>of</strong> financial <strong>and</strong> administrative functions <strong>of</strong> theschool or centre <strong>and</strong> the supervision <strong>and</strong> training <strong>of</strong> school administrative<strong>of</strong>ficers <strong>and</strong> school support <strong>of</strong>ficers in the school or centre.The additional range <strong>of</strong> duties includes:1. Finance• Duties related to the financial management <strong>of</strong> the school includingparticipating in school financial decision making processes,provision <strong>of</strong> financial advice <strong>and</strong> management <strong>of</strong> end <strong>of</strong> yearfinancial procedures by way <strong>of</strong> computerised/manual systems.• Implementation <strong>and</strong> maintenance <strong>of</strong> school financial systems.2. Supervision• Supervision <strong>of</strong> school administrative <strong>of</strong>ficers including:- allocation <strong>of</strong> staff;- allocation <strong>of</strong> workloads <strong>and</strong> co-ordination <strong>of</strong> work in the areas <strong>of</strong>financial procedures, administration <strong>and</strong> support for teaching<strong>and</strong> learning activities;- identification <strong>of</strong> training needs <strong>of</strong> school administrative <strong>of</strong>ficers<strong>and</strong> school support <strong>of</strong>ficers;- monitoring <strong>of</strong> work output <strong>and</strong> quality;- ensuring principles <strong>of</strong> EEO are applied to school administrative<strong>of</strong>ficers <strong>and</strong> school support <strong>of</strong>ficers in the school; <strong>and</strong>- facilitating the implementation <strong>of</strong> performance management forschool administrative <strong>of</strong>ficers <strong>and</strong> school support <strong>of</strong>ficers.3. Administration• Participation in the development <strong>and</strong> implementation <strong>of</strong> schoolmanagement plans.• Management <strong>of</strong> computerised/manual financial <strong>and</strong> administrativesystem.• Office management including development <strong>and</strong> maintenance <strong>of</strong>administrative systems.H<strong>and</strong>book for non teaching staff in schools 2007 Page 1 - 11
