4 LEAVEconsecutive weeks recreation leave.4.3.3.4 Broken ServiceBroken service does not attract the annual leave loading. A staff member whoresigns <strong>and</strong> is subsequently re-employed has only that service from the date <strong>of</strong> re<strong>employment</strong>recognised for annual leave loading purposes.4.3.3.5 Resignation or Dismissal for MisconductNo annual leave loading is payable on resignation or dismissal for misconductregardless <strong>of</strong> whether the recreation leave to credit is taken as leave or as a lumpsum payment.Where a staff member resigns during a period <strong>of</strong> recreation leave <strong>and</strong> does notresume duty after the leave, action will be taken to recover any leave loading paid.4.3.4 CALCULATION OF LOADING4.3.4.1 Basis <strong>of</strong> CalculationCalculation <strong>of</strong> the loading is to be based on the ordinary salary or wage applicable atthe time the leave is taken. Ordinary salary or wage does not include any regularpayment made on an annual or weekly basis as compensation for shift work but doesinclude all allowances payable during recreation leave.4.3.4.2 Variation <strong>of</strong> Rates Under Award, Agreement, etc.Any new rate granted by award, agreement, determination, State Wage Casedecision, increment, etc., during the period <strong>of</strong> leave is to be taken into account in thecalculation <strong>of</strong> the loading, unless otherwise prescribed by the award, etc. Ifnecessary, retrospective adjustment <strong>of</strong> the loading is made.H<strong>and</strong>book for non teaching staff in schools 2007 Page 4 - 21
