9 SUPERANNUATION9.5.12 COSTS TO STAFF MEMBERS9.5.12.1 The Department will not be charging an administration fee for the salary sacrifice tosuperannuation scheme.9.5.12.2 The superannuation funds charge administration and management fees andprofessional advisers may charge a fee for providing financial advice. You will needto contact funds or advisers to determine their individual fee levels.9.5.13 COMMENCING SALARY PACKAGING TO SUPERANNUATION9.5.13.1 Staff members are strongly advised to seek independent financial advice beforecommitting to starting salary sacrifice to superannuation. For legal reasons,Departmental staff are not able to provide advice regarding personal financialdecisions.9.5.13.2 Staff members will also need to review, and cease where necessary, current posttaxdeductions prior to commencing salary sacrifice to superannuation contributions,to ensure that all post-tax financial commitments can continue to be met when pretaxcontributions to superannuation commence.9.5.13.3 Applications and authority forms to commence salary sacrifice to superannuationcontributions are available from:Salary Packaging UnitLocked Bag 3005BLACKTOWN NSW 2148Fax: (02) 9836 99029.5.14 CEASING OR TRANSFERRING SALARY SACRIFICE ARRANGEMENTSSalary sacrifice under this scheme may be ceased at any time by giving one month’s notice inwriting.
