La versione acquisita dall’U.S. Army, non è la full-size "Version 2," ma una
versione più leggera e meno potente nota con il nome di Silent Guardian, che la
Raytheon descrive come "roughly 1/3 the size and power of the other Active Denial
Systems", 758 capace di essere efficace a distanza superiore a 250 m (mentre l’ADS 2
arriva fino ad oltre 700 m). 759
Il modello Silent Guardian è montato su un camion commerciale Ford 550, 760
mentre l’ADS 2 pesando circa 5 t (antenna compresa), deve essere montato su
mezzi HEMTT (Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck). 761
Il DoJ ha recentemente manifestato il suo interesse allo sviluppo di una
versione portatile del sistema, efficace a distanze più ridotte ed impiegabile per la
tutela dell’ordine pubblico da parte delle forze di polizia. 762
