98. Leaves narrow lanceolate acute, base narrow, 9 in. long, '75 in.<br />

wide. Scapes 8 to 10 in. long, lower half nude red woolly, raceme<br />

v'ery dense. Flowers brown woolly outside, yellowish within.<br />

Bracts ovate acute, very small. Sepals sparsely red-tomentose<br />

outside. Upper one elliptic blunt, laterals much larger ovate<br />

oblique; mentum long. Petals linear blunt curved. Lip thin,<br />

claw long, limb ovate-spathulate undulate. Hab. Selangor,<br />

Bukit Hitam. Perak, Thaiping Hills (Ridley); Hermitage Hill<br />

(Cur:tis).<br />

Pseudo bulbs crowded, I in. long. Leaves stiff coriaceous<br />

lanceolate-linear, I ft. long, '35 in. wide, keel stout. Scape 7 in.<br />

long, rather slender, racemose' part, 3'5 in. long. Flowers barely<br />

'2 in. long, red-woolly; pedicels '1 in. long, brown hairy pale<br />

greenish straw colour. Sepal upper elliptic-Ianceolate blunt,<br />

laterals broad ovate blunt, mentum clubbed. Petals thin smaller<br />

elliptic blunt. Lip obovate-oblanceolate, base rather thin, tip<br />

fleshy broad undulate. Column short. Anther apparently purple.<br />

Hab. Perak, Gunong Batu Putih (Wray).<br />

Rhizome woody; pseudobulbs crowded conic, covered with<br />

dark brown sheaths, I in. long. Leaves 2, linear-Ianceolate acute,<br />

tomentose. Raceme densely red silvery tomentose. Bracts minute<br />

lanceolate acuminate. Sepals upper ovate blunt, laterals semiorbicular<br />

pubescent; mentum short, straight clubbed. Petals<br />

small narrow lanceolate curved. Lip short oblong fan-shaped, tip<br />

round undulate. Capsule. oblanceolate. Hab. On low bushes or<br />

on the ground. Pahang, Gunong Tahan at 5000 ft. altitude.<br />

Rhizome long creeping stout woody; pseudobulbs I in. apart,<br />

cylindric, I in. long, covered with silvery sheaths. Leaf I, narrow<br />

lanceolate linear sub-acute very coriaceous, 6 in. long, '5 in. wide.<br />

Scape I ft. long, basal 7 in. nude. Raceme dense, 4 in. long, all<br />

Ted tomentose. Upper sepal oblong hooded, laterals ovate-triangular<br />

falcate, tomentose outside, pale yellow inside: mentum '25 in.<br />

long, straight cylindric clubbed. Petals broad ovate-Ianceolate.<br />

Lip oblong rounded, edges undulate, central bar fleshy papillose.<br />

Hab. On rocks at. 5000 to 6000 ft. altitude. Pahang, Gunong<br />

Tahan (Robinson).<br />
