Pseudobulbs globose-conic wrinkled crowded, 1'5 in. long, I in.<br />

through; rhizome stout. Leaves lanceolate acute, 6 in. long, I in.<br />

wide. Raceme from among leaves 3 to 5 in. long. Flowers few,<br />

white, 3 in. across, fragrant. Bracts lanceolate acuminate, I in.<br />

long. Sepals oblong-Ianceolate acute. Petals much narrower<br />

lanceolate. Lip side-lobes oblong blunt, white with orange below<br />

tips, midlobe large broad erose or entire sub-acute centre orange,<br />

keels 3, crisped, toothed on midlobe. Hab. In the low country on<br />

the tops of very lofty trees, and at 3000 ft. altitude, in large masses<br />

several feet across on rocks. Singapore (Cuming); Bukit Timah.<br />

Pseudobulbs ovoid angled crowded, 1'5 in. long. Leaf I,<br />

elliptic or lanceolate acute, 4 to 9 in. long, 1'5 to 2 in. wide; petiole<br />

r to 2 in. long. Raceme from axil of young leaf 4 in. long. Flowers<br />

I or 2, large; brads lanceolate caducous. Sepals oblong-Ianceolate<br />

acute, 2'5 in. long, buff, flesh colour or greenish. Petals narrow<br />

linear. Lip large, side-lobes blunt toothed, midlobe with a broad<br />

claw tip broad oblong with 2 undulate crests yellowish blotched<br />

red brown, tip and edge white. Column tall. Capsule 2'5 in.<br />

long, ovoid, strongly winged. Hab. On trees in woods, usually<br />

sporadic, not rare. Singapore, Diu Sumbawang. Johor, Sungei<br />

Tebrau. Pahang, Tras Route (Barnes); Tahan River. Negri<br />

Sembilan, Pantai (Williams). Selangor, Semangkok Pass; Menuang<br />

Gasing (Kloss). Perak, Thaiping Hills (common); Gunong Batu<br />

The keels and edge sometimes fimbriate.<br />

Pseudobulbs oblong, 4-angled, 2 in. long. Leaves obovate to<br />

lanceolate, sub-acute, base long narrowed, I ft. long, 3 in. wide;<br />

petioles 4 in. long. Raceme 2- or 3-flowered. Sepals 2 in. long,<br />

pinkish. Petals very narrow linear, 1'5 in. long. Lip side-lobes<br />

rounded entire, midlobe '5 in. long, oblong round at tip, narrowed,<br />

keels 2, low deep brown, base of midlobe sepia brown edged flesh<br />

colour, side-lobes dark brown spotted white. Rostellum lanceolate.<br />

Hab. Pahang, Gunong Tahan, Teku River woods (Ridley).<br />

Leaves and pseudobulbs larger than in C. speclOsa, midlobe of lip much<br />

smaller. Perhaps a local form.<br />
