All orange. Hab. By stream banks. Pahang, Telom

lanceolate acute pubescent purple beneath, 8 in long, 3 in. wide;
sheaths purple spotted hairy. Panicle lax; branches 2 in. long or
more. Bracts ovate, white. Calyx tubular, '25 in. long, pubescent,
2 teeth longer than third. Corolla-tube'5 in. long. lobes boatshaped,
'25 in. long, white. Staminodes narrower oblong. Lip
short oblong usually with purple central spot. Stamen filament
1 in. long; anther cordate, spurs 2, slender subulate. Ovary white
pubescent. Capsule '5 in. long. Bab. In woods. Singapore,
Bukit Timah (abundant) ; Bidadari. Johor, Tana Runto;
Gunong Pulai; Gunong Pantai (King). Dindings, Lumut. Perak,
Larut (Kunstler). Distrib. Sumatra.
Forms with the leaves on flowering stems suppressed occur. I think the
type specimen of G. stenothyrsa var. Cl4mingn Bak. from Malacca, Cuming
is young G. le14cantha.
