Slender erect herbs with short rhizome. Leaves ovate or<br />
lanceolate. Inflorescence terminal, panicled lax. Flowers small,<br />
yellow, white or violet. Calyx tubular, 3-toothed. Corolla tube<br />
longer slender, lobes boat-shaped, reflexed. Staminodes similar.<br />
Lip base adnate to stamen forming a tube with it, limb narrow<br />
deflexed, often bilobed. Stamen filament long slender; anther<br />
decurved, ellipsoid, connective prolonged into a simple margin<br />
or 2 to 4 spurs. Style longer. Ovary I-celled. Capsule globose,<br />
small. Seeds arillate. Hab. In damp spots. Bulbils are produced<br />
in the inflorescence occasionally in nearly all species. Species about<br />
30, India, China, Malaya.<br />
