Rhizome creeping; pseudobulbs sub-globose. Leaf I, coriaceous,
base sheathing the pseudobulbs, linear-Ianceolate acute, 9 to 15 in.
long, I in. wide. Scape slender, 6 to 8 in. long. Bracts at
top distichous imbricating. Flowers opening singly, red brown;
pedicel '5 in. long. Sepals lanceolate. Petals narrow linear. Lip
'5 in. long, obcuneate fan-shaped, claw narrow, limb tip broad
truncate crenulate, calli 2. Column slender curved. Hab. Not
common, Perak, Thaiping Hills at 4000 to 5000 ft. altitude (Curtis,
Scortechini); Gunong Batu Putih (Wray). Distnb. Sumatra,
Borneo, Java, Celebes.

Rhizome long slender branching, pseudo bulbs pear-shaped, '25
in. long. Leaf 1, linear acute, 5 to 10 in. long, '25 in. wide or less.
Scape slender winged, 4 to 6 in. long. Raceme'5 to '75 in. long.
Bracts '12 to '25 in. long, distichous. Flowers·s in. wide. Sepals
oblong narrow. Petals linear yellowish. Lip '25 in long, acre,
obovate retuse with 2 tubercles at base. Column broadly winged
slightly curved. H abo Common on mangroves, and on forest trees
up to 5000 ft. altitude. Singapore, Kranji; Sungei Buluh. Johor,

Tufted epiphytes with numerous obconic pseudo bulbs crowded
on a rhizome. Leaves single, lanceolate or linear, petioled. Raceme
terminal on a long peduncle slender. Bracts stiff broad convolute.
Flowers small green. white or brown. Sepals and petals narrow. Lip
sessile or nearly fiat, oblong or pandurate with two keels or calli at
base. Column slender or short and broad. arms long, tip of column
hooded. Anther 2-celled. Pollinia 4, waxy ovoid. Species about
20, Malay Peninsula and islands.
