Stems much branched, IS in. long; pseudo bulbs fusiform, I in.<br />

long, '12 in. through. Leaf lanceolate sub-obtuse, 1'5 in. long,<br />

'25 in. wide. Flowers'5 in. wide. Upper sepals ovate blunt,<br />

laterals much larger; mentum large blunt. Petals smaller lorate,<br />

pale green. Lip side-lobes broad blunt greenish, disc crimson purple<br />

with 3 keels, midlobe horseshoe-shaped orange. Hab. On trees in<br />

mountains, Johor, Pulau Aor (Feilding). Pahang, Gunong Tahan<br />

at 3000 to 6000 ft. altitude; Kluang Terbang (Barnes). Malacca,<br />

Mt. Ophir. Perak, Thaiping Hills. Kedah Peak.<br />

Stems slender branched; pseudo bulbs cylindric, slightly flattened<br />

olive-green, 1'5 in. long, '26 in. through. Leaves lanceolate-linear,<br />

3 to 4 in. long, '25 to '5 in. wide. Flowers nearly '5 in. wide.<br />

Sepals oblong, laterals recurved blunt cream faintly purple-veined.<br />

Mentum short broad conic. Petals linear acute. Lip as in Kelsalli<br />

but side-lobes short round pink; midlobe clawed with a round<br />

bilobed limb, disc and claw violet pink, limb creamy yellow, 2<br />

large fleshy semi-elliptic deep purple cushions on disc. Column<br />

lemon yellow. Hab. Rare, Johor, Kukub; Tempayan River<br />

(Ridley).<br />

Large plant, 2 ft. tall, much branched; pseudobulbs linear<br />

oblong flattened, 2 in. long, '25 in. through. Leaf elliptic or ovateelliptic<br />

blunt, 3 in. long and wide. Flowers in pairs; pedicel and<br />

ovary '75 in. long. Sepals '36 in. long, lanceolate acute, pale<br />

yellow; mentum short and broad. Lip as long, side-lobes falcate<br />

acute yellow with crimson lines, midlobe spotted purple, keels 2,<br />

crimson running to midlobe and there sinuous, midlobe linear<br />

waved, tip covered with yellow filaments. Column short, white<br />

spotted purple. Hab. Mangrove trees, common, Singapore, Kranji;<br />

Changi. Johor, Batu Pahat. Negri Sembilan, Siliau (Williams).<br />

Distrib. Rhio, Java. Borneo, Papua.<br />

This may be the plant intended by Blume under Dendrobitlm comattlm,<br />

which would be its earliest name, but J am not sure of this.<br />

Large much-branched plant; pseudobulbs ovate flat, olive or<br />

purplish, 4 in. long, I in. wide, '5 in. thick. Leaf ovate to lanceolate<br />

blunt, 5 to 6 in. long, 2 in. wide. Flowers I in. wide; pedicels<br />

'5 in. long. Bracts 2 ovate-Ianceolate soon broken into fibres.<br />

Sepals lanceolate acute, mentum conic sub-acute as long. Petals<br />

linear, all cream, spotted pink. Lip base linear, side-lobes narrow<br />

acute, straw colour, tips rosy, midlobe pandurate oblong, sides
