Small epiphytes. Leaves linear or oblong fleshy. Racemes very
short few-flowered. Flowers small. Sepals lanceolate. Petals
smaller. Lip flat, fleshy entire or side-lobes very small, no spur.
Column short, arms small. Anther I-celled. Pollinia 4, a linear
caudicle and large disc. Capsule oblong or elliptic. Species 5
or 6, Malayan.

wide. Bracts 3, ovate as long as ovary. Sepals ovate-Ianceolate
acute, '25 in. long. Petals much smaller linear acute. Lip obovateobcuneate,
side-lobes minute, midlobe broad, tip round, keel papillose.
Capsule oblong, '25 in. long. Hab. Hill woods, Johor, Batu Pahat.

Stem 2 to 6 in. long. Leaves linear-oblong acute, recurved
fleshy, I in. long, '12 in. wide; sheaths '12 in. long. Racemes short,
3- to 4-flowered. Flowers very small fragrant. Bracts ovate
minute. Pedicel and ovary as long. Sepals Ian ceo late acuminate,
laterals sub-falcate. Petals smaller. Lip entire cordate acute,
a granular callus at ba.se. Hab. Common on trees, mangroves, etc.,
up to 3900 ft. altitude. Singapore, Kranji, mangroves. Johor,
Tanjong Kupang. Negri Sembilan, Port Dickson (Williams).

Stem 2 to 4 in. tall. Leaves linear acute thick recllrved, I to
2 in. long, very narrow. Flowers very small sessile. Sepals ovateoblong
acute, hardly '12 in. long. Petals linear smaller, all ochre.
Lip ovate acute purple, side-lobes erect blunt short. Capsule
'25 in. long. Hab. Very rare. Selangor, Batu Caves (Kelsall).

Stems stout. Leaves coriaceous lorate. Racemes short stout.
Flowers medium. Sepals and petals sub-similar connivent. Lip
spurless or nearly so, 3-lobed, often pubescent. Column thick
conic. Pollinia with a narrow caudicle and oval disc. Species
8 or 9, Indo-Malayan and African.
Some of the species included by authors have a distinct and rather large
spur, and seem to me indIstinguishable from Saccolabzum.
