1 ft. long, 3 in. wide; petiole 4 to 5 in. long. Scape 1'5 ft. tall.
Flowers 9 to 10, I to 2 in. across. Sepals acute. Petals shorter,
pale yellow veined purple. Lip shorter, side-lobes round, midlobe
ovate, buff or nearly white spotted violet, with 3 ribs, spur yellow.
Column broad boat-shaped, spotted violet. Anther yellow, 2 crimson
spots. Hab. On grassy banks. Penang Hill (Curtis). Kedah,
Gunong Geriang. Distrib. Java and Amboina.

Terrestrial herbs; stems succulent creeping. Leaves ovate or
lanceolate petiolate solitary. Scape tall erect with few flowers
from creeping stem. Sepals lanceolate, laterals forming a mentum
adnate to column foot. Petals similar. Lip spurred adnate to
column foot, entire or 3-lobed. Column tall, foot short, arms very
short. Anther bilobed at top. Pollinia 8, very unequal. Specie'S
10, Indo-Malaya.
