mucronate, l'5 in. long. Flowers rosy, '25 in. across. Petals<br />

white. Filaments with yellow beard at base. Pistil orange.<br />

Hab. Legeh, Tomoh (Machado) Cult. Botanic Gardens, Singapore<br />

l896, sent down alive by A. D. Machado.<br />

hypogynous. Carpels compressed, winged, tipped with the persistent<br />

style. Species I, Malay Peninsula.<br />

connate at base. Fruit'5 in. through. Hab. Very rare, in a<br />

patch of black mud in dense forest. Selangor, Batu Caves (Ridley).<br />

I have never seen this plant again.<br />
