Rhizome 2 in. long. Leaves 5 in a tuft, very narrow linear<br />

acuminate, the longest 6 in. long, '1 in. wide. Scape lateral,<br />

appearing with the young leaves, 16 in. tall, pubescent, with a few<br />

sheathing leaves, uppermost one bract-like. Bracts lanceolate<br />

acuminate pubescent, '5 in. long, upper ones shorter. Flowers 7<br />

or 8, yellow. Ovary and pedicel very slender, '75 in. long, pubescent.<br />

Sepals pubescent lanceolate acuminate, '5 in. long. Petals<br />

lanceolate acute, broader glabrous. Lip'6 in. long, side-lobes erect<br />

oblong rounded truncate broad, '25 in. long, claw of midlobe narrow<br />

pubescent, dilated at end into a triangular rounded retuse portion<br />

and with 2 short pubescent lateral lobes at base. Column slender,<br />

arched, '5 in. long. Hab. Mountains, Kedah Peak. at 2000 ft.<br />

altitude (Haniff). Distrib. Java.<br />

Pseudobulbs small globose. Leaves 2 or 3, lanceolate acuminate,<br />

pale rose; pedicels 1'5 in. long. Bracts lanceolate acuminate,<br />

'25 in. long, red. Upper sepal lorate-Ianceolate, laterals larger.<br />

Petals lanceolate acute oblique. Lip side-lobes triangular blunt,<br />

midlobe linear acuminate, calli 2, club-shaped truncate yellow.<br />

Column arched dilate above. Capsule cylindric. Hab. Rare. Lankawi<br />

Terrestrial herbs with a short or rarely long rhizome. Leaves<br />

broad herbaceous plicate in a large tuft. Scapes from the tuft of<br />

leaves tall, many-flowered. Flowers medium-sized to rather small,<br />

white, violet or yellow. Sepals and petals all similar lanceolate.<br />

Lip adnate to base of column, fiat, 3- or 4-lobed, disc with lamellre<br />

or calli arranged in rows, at the base, spur usually long (absent in<br />

C. gracilis). Column short horizontal adnate to lip base (except<br />

C. gracilis). Anther conic; pollinia 8 waxy, adhering in pairs to<br />

a disc.<br />
