Stems 1'5 in. long. Leaves 4 to 5 distant linear ensiform falcate,
'75 to 2 in. long, '15 in. wide. Spike lax decurved, 2 in. long.
Flowers '05 in. wide. Bracts ovate entire. Sepals ovate-oblong
acute pale red. Petals linear acuminate. Lip longer, side-lobes
ovate acuininate, midlobe narrow deeply bilobed, lobes caudate
acuminate. Hab. Rare, Perak. No locality (Scortechini).

Stem I in. long. Leaves ensiform acute falcate, ·6 to 1 in. long,
'25 in. wide. Spike 1·8 to 3 in. long, slender puberulous. Flowers
sparse, '05 in. across, orange. Bracts oblong erose. Sepals ovate
blunt. Petals linear entire. Lip larger, base broad concave, sidelobes
round erect, midlobe narrow, tip bilobed. Hab. Very rare.
Perak, no locality (Scortechini).

Stems 4 to 13 in. long, slender pendulous. Leaves remote linear
ensiform acute, I in. long, '1 in. wide. Spike 4 in. long, slender.
Flowers yellow in close whorls. Bracts lanceolate as long as flowers
Sepals ovate-triangular. Petals narrower linear. Lip 3-lobed,
side-lobes short triangular acute, midlobe lanceolate sub-acute.
Hab. Rare. On trees in forests, at 3000 ft. altitude. Selangor,
Sempang Mines (Ridley).

Stems several, 1 to 2 in. long, bare below with numerous roots.
Leaves fleshy linear acute, '75 in. long, '12 in. wide. Raceme
floriferous to base. Bracts lanceolate long-acuminate. Flowers
yellow, '08 in. wide. Sepals ovate blunt. Petals lanceolate much
narrower. Lip as long quite entire elongate triangular. Bab. On
trees by streams, very local, Pahang, Gunong Tahan at 5500 ft.
altitude (Robinson, Ridley).
3. HIPPEOPHYLLUM, Schlechter.
Epiphytes with the appearance of Oberonia, but rhizome long·
creeping with distant tufts of leaves, ensiform falcate, articulate at
base. Racemes long slender with numerous very small flowers
and persistent bracts. Sepals lanceolate. Petals narrower. Lip
3-lobed not auricled, base broad. Column rather long slender with
broad wings. Species about 6, Malay islands.
