Stems tufted, I ft. tall, base purple. Leaves ovate acuminate<br />

cuspidate glabrous except midrib, 4 in. long, 1'5 in. wide; petioles<br />

'25 in. long or less; sheath pubescent. Panicle short lax nodding,<br />

6 in. long, pubescent slender, with 6 lanceolate acute green bracts<br />

on the bare part. Flowers clustered on branch ends lemon yellow.<br />

Bracts ovate pale yellow. Calyx tubular, '25 in. long, lobes equal<br />

blunt. Corolla-tube '75 in. long, pubescent, lobes ovate, '25 in.<br />

long. Staminodes linear-oblong longer. Lip short oblong dilate<br />

towards bilobed tip, lobes acute, spot green. Anther-spurs 4, upper<br />

ones subulate, lower broader. Capsule green wrinkled. Bab.<br />

Hill woods, common where it occurs. Negri Sembilan, Bukit Tangga.<br />

Selangor, Ginting Bidai; Semangkok Pass. Perak, Thaiping Hills<br />

(abundant); Goping (Kunstler); Gunong Kerbau (Robinson).<br />

Plant 3 ft. tall or more. Leaves ovate to ovate-Ianeeolate,<br />

glabrous, 5'5 in. long, '75 in. wide; sheath and ligule glabrous.<br />

Panicle very lax decurved, about 10 in. long; branches distant,<br />

'5 in. long. Bracts linear-oblong, '5 in. long. Calyx cylindric,<br />

teeth short lanceolate orange. Corolla-tube'5 in. long, lobes '25 in.<br />

long, ovate-Ianceolate yellow. Staminodes '75 in. long, linearoblong.<br />

Lip lobes divaricate yellow, central orange blotch. Stamen<br />

filament 1'5 in. long. Anther-spurs 4, long acuminate. Bab.<br />

Plant IS in. tall. Leaves pubescent beneath ovate acuminate,<br />

4'5 in. long, 1'5 in. wide; sheaths hairy. Panicle nodding,<br />

about 5 in. long; branches '5 in. long, all pubescent. Bracts on<br />

lower part, '25 in. long, oblong green. Flowers 4 or 5 at ends of<br />

branches, light yellow. Calyx funnel-shaped very short blunt,<br />

3-lobed or entire, '12 in. long. Corolla-tube '25 in. long, lobes ovate.<br />

Lip linear entire. Anther-spurs 4, equal triangular. Capsule pustular.<br />

Bab. Perak, Thaiping Hills (Kunstler, Curtis).<br />

I doubt if this is anything but a large form of G. cernua. Baker no doubt<br />

intended the name to be tl'achycarpa, on account of the pustular fruit, but It<br />

was incorrectly printed.<br />

Rhizome creeping; stems 2 in. apart, 4 to 6 in. tall, covered with<br />

pubescent sheaths I in. long or less. Leaf I, ovate acute, glabrous,<br />

6 to 8 in. long, 3 in. wide; petioles'5 to I in. long. Panicle dense<br />

decurved, 2 in. long, pubescent. Bracts oblong-ovate pubescent.<br />

Calyx funnel-shaped. teeth obscure unequally bilobed pubescent.
