Malacca. Kedah Peak (Haniff), a form with the flowers pale<br />

green with 4 unequal sinuous ridges, possihly distinrt.<br />

Rhizome long slender; pseudo bulbs distant fusiform, 2 in.<br />

long. Leaves ovate or elliptic acute, 5 in. long, 1'25 in. wide;<br />

petioles '5 in. long. Raceme 6 in. long, flexuous. Bracts lanceolate<br />

acuminate, I in. long. Flowers 5, green, '75 in. wide; pedicels<br />

'5 in. long. Sepals lanceolate acute. Petals shorter filiform, base<br />

lanceolate. Lip much longer pandurate, side-lobes short, round,<br />

midlobe longer, base narrow, oblong, keels 2, thick. Column<br />

short, hood round. Hab. Local on trees and on the ground. Kedah<br />

Peak at 3000 to 4000 ft. altitude (Ridley).<br />

Rhizome long, stout; pseudobulbs distant fusiform, I to 2 in,<br />

long. Leaves elliptic-Ianceolate, 2 to 4 in. long, '5 to I in. wide;<br />

petioles '5 to I in. long. Raceme slender, 8 to 9 in. long, base<br />

flattened, upper part flexuous. Bracts lanceolate acute, I in. long.<br />

Flowers 18 to 20, white or brown, '5 in. long. Petals linear-filiform.<br />

Lip longer, side-lobes round blunt, midlobe round blunt or retuse,<br />

keels 2, short, yellow. Capsule oblanceolate, I in. long, rather<br />

strongly winged. Hab. On rocks or mo'lS, tree stumps or low<br />

bushes at 4000 ft. to 6000 ft. altitude. Pahang, Kluang Terbang<br />

(Barnes) ; Gunong Tahan; Telom. Selangor, Sempang Mines<br />

(flower sienna brown); Menuang Gasing (Kloss); Mengkuang<br />

Lebah (Robinson). Perak, Gunong Kerbau (Robinson), Gunong<br />

Inas (Yapp); Kedah, Gunong Bintang (Kloss).<br />

The petals in Ie Pl. 2107 are figured much too broad.<br />

Rhizome very stout; pseudobulbs terete, 3 in. distant, I to<br />

2 in. long. Leaves elliptic-oblong, I to 2 in. long, '5 to ·6 in. wide.<br />

Raceme 8 in. tall. Flowers brownish flesh-colour, 1'5 in. wide.<br />

Sepals lanceolate acute, '75 in. long. Petals narrow linear. Lip<br />

narrow, side-lobes long, blunt, midlobe orbicular with 3 keels.<br />

Column hood truncate. Hab. Pahang, Gunong Tahan (Ridley).<br />

Perak, Gunong Batu Putih (Wray), one very small specimen with<br />

a smaller flower than the Tahan plant.<br />

38. CRINONIA, Blume.<br />

Rhizomatous with pseudobulbs. Leaves 2, coriaceous narrow<br />

lanceolate. Scapes from base of pseudo bulbs, base covered with<br />

sheaths. Raceme slender of many small flowers. Sepals, upper<br />

one concave, laterals oblique larger. Petals broad. Lip clawed,<br />

claw descending, limb obscurely 3-lobed or entire, concave, with
