lobe hooded, '75 in. long, lower ones shorter, adnate to lip. Lip
narrow fleshy little longer, tongue-shaped pubescent, all dark red.
Capsule oblong, '75 in. long. Hab. Common in lowland woods.
Singapore, Bukit Timah, etc. Johor, Tanjong Bunga. Malacca,
Ching (Griffith). Selangor, Kwala Lumpur. Distrib. Sumatra,
Borneo.

Stems 12 ft. tall, clubbed at base. Leaves oblong-Ianceolate
glabrous, 15 in. long, 3°in. wide; ligules pubescent. Spike fusiform,
4 in. long, Bracts ovate acute mucronate ribbed, silky pubescent,
2 in. long, I in. wide. Flowers 5 in. long, red. Calyx 3 in. long,
base silky. Corolla lobes lorate. Lip as long, red, edges white.
Anther crestless, red. Hab. Rare. Pahang, Tahan woods
(Ridley).

Stem tall. Leaves linear-lanceolate acuminate glabrous, 18 in.
long, 2 in. wide; petioles 3 in. long. Spike cylindric, 5 in. long,
I in. through. Bracts ovate rounded at tip, finely striate pubescent
above, I in. long and nearly as wide. Calyx 1'5 in. long, unequally
bilobed. Corolla tube 2 in. long, lobes linear-oblong, blunt, 1 in.
long. Lip as long. Anther-crest large round. H abo Rare, Selangor,
Rulu Semangkok at 4000 ft. altitude (Ridley).

Rhizome stilted on stiff roots. Stems 12 to 15 ft. tall, base clubbed.
Leaves oblong cuspidate, 3 ft. long, 6 in. across, glabrous; petioles
'S in. long. Spikes elongate conic-cylindric, 8 in. tall. Bracts
ovate round, edges hairy, minutely striolate with irregular transverse
elevations. Calyx 2 in. long, trilobed. Corolla 5 in. long,
upper lobe 1 in. long. Lip side-lobes small, tip round pubescent.
Filament hairy; anther-crest ovate acute. Hab. In forests at
3000 to 4000 ft. altitude. Pahang, Telom; Fraser Hill (Burkill).
