Stems slender, 2 ft. tall, purplish. Leaves 10, lanceolate acuminate,<br />

5 in. long, 1'5 in. wide, ligule I in. long. Peduncles 2 in.<br />

long, thick. Spikes 4 in. long, cylindric. Bracts broad truncate<br />

retuse, yellow. Corolla white, lobes lanceolate acute, 1 in. long.<br />

Lip base narrow linear, lobes ovate blunt white, midlobe bifid<br />

dotted crimson. Anther-cells elliptic, pink-spotted. Hab. Local<br />

in dense woods. Perak, Thaiping Hills (Curtis, Wray).<br />

Stems often tall, stout. Leaves oblong-Ianceolate caudate, dark<br />

green glabrous, base round, 18 in. long, 3'75 to 4 in. wide; ligule<br />

very short. Spikes cylindric acuminate, 7 in. long; peduncle as<br />

long. Bracts '75 in. across, rounded glabrous, lemon yellow.<br />

Calyx spathaceous oblique entire, 1 in. long. Corolla tube 2 in.<br />

long, lobes lanceolate acuminate, over 1 in. long, cream white.<br />

Lip side-lobes round, midlobe oblong blunt entire, 1 in. long,<br />

cream white. Hab. Very rare. Singapore, in a wood at Stagmount<br />

in 1908, cleared and burnt a year or so later.<br />

Stems 1 ft. tall. Leaves broad lanceolate dark green, pubescent<br />

beneath, 8 in. long, 4 in. wide; ligule very short. Spike oblong<br />

blunt, 4 to 5 in. long; peduncle 3 in. long. Bracts broad round,<br />

lemon yellow (pink in fruit). Calyx '75 in. long, bifid. Corolla<br />

tube 2'5 in. long, lateral-lobes connate and adnate to lip, '75 in. long,<br />

yellowish. Lip side-lobes large oblong round, mid lobe lanceolate<br />

blunt, yellow. Hab. In woods. Johor, Gunong Janeng (Kelsall).<br />

Selangor, Ginting Peras; Ginting Bidai; Dusun Tua. Perak, DIu<br />

Bubong (Kunstler). Native name: Tepus Tenok.<br />

Stems glabrous slender, 2 ft. tall or more. Leaves ovate or<br />

ovate lanceolate acute pubescent beneath, 6 in. long, 2'5 in. wide.<br />

Peduncle 6 to 12 in. long. Spike 4 to 6 in. long, cylindric acute,<br />

base narrowed. Bracts ovate blunt or acute pink. Calyx lobes<br />

long lanceolate acute. Corolla tube 1 in. long, lobes lanceolate<br />

acute, yellowish white. Lip side-lobes round, '5 in. long, midlobe<br />

deeply bifid acute. Capsule'5 in. long, elliptic. Hab. Woods<br />

not rare. Singapore, Bukit Timah. Pahang, Kwala Tembeling;<br />

Tahan River. Malacca, Sungei Hudang (Goodenough); Mt. Ophir<br />

(Hullett). Selangor, Bukit Hitam (Kelsall); Kwala Lumpur.<br />

narrow linear acuminate. Peduncle 18 in. long. Spike 7 to 8 in.<br />
