• Both Windows and Macintosh users can open a file directly by double
clicking it. Use My Computer or Windows Explorer (Windows 2000,
XP, or Vista) or the Finder (Macintosh) to go to the folder you created
and copied the CD-ROM’s files to. Then, double click the specific file
you want to open.
• You can also open a PDF file from within Adobe Reader. To do this,
you must first start Reader. Then, go to the File menu and choose the
Open command. This opens a dialog box where you will tell the program
the location and name of the file (you will need to navigate through
the directory tree to get to the folder on your hard disk where the CD-
ROM’s files have been installed).
Where Are the PDF Files Installed?
• Windows Users: PDF files are installed by default to a folder named
\FMLA Guide Resources in the \Program Files folder of your computer.
• Macintosh Users: PDF files are located in the “PDF” folder within the
“FMLA Guide Resources” folder.
Step 2: Filling in a Form
Use your mouse or the Tab key on your keyboard to navigate from field to
field within these forms.
• If document rights are enabled, you can save your completed form to
disk using Adobe Reader 5.1 or higher.
• If document rights are not enabled, be sure to have all the information
you will need to complete a form on hand, because you will not be able
to save a copy of the filled-in form to disk. You can, however, print out a
completed version.
NOTE: This step is applicable only to forms that have been created with fillin
text fields. Forms without fill-in fields must be completed by hand or
typewriter after you have printed them out.
