C. Refrigerant Coil: Copper tube, with mechanically bonded aluminum fins, complying with<br />

ARI 210/240, and with liquid subcooler. Provide with manufacturer's optional coil coating for<br />

coastal areas.<br />

D. Fan: Aluminum-propeller type, directly connected to motor.<br />

E. Motor: Permanently lubricated, with integral thermal-overload protection.<br />

F. Low Ambient Kit.<br />

G. Mounting Base: Polyethylene.<br />

2.05 ACCESSORIES:<br />

A. Control equipment is specified in SECTION 230900 - HVAC INSTRUMENTATION AND<br />

CONTROLS.<br />

B. Provide wall mounted controller for each evaporator unit to control compressor and evaporator<br />

fan. Provide with Bacnet compatible system gateway for connection to the building DDC<br />

System. DDC system shall receive alarms, temperature and on/<strong>of</strong>f status; and shall control<br />

on/<strong>of</strong>f operation and temperature setpoints.<br />

C. Automatic-reset timer to prevent rapid cycling <strong>of</strong> compressor.<br />

D. Refrigerant Line Kits: S<strong>of</strong>t-annealed copper suction and liquid lines factory cleaned, dried,<br />

pressurized, and sealed; factory-insulated suction line with flared fittings at both ends.<br />

2.06 FAN COIL UNIT CONDENSATE PUMP:<br />

A. Basis <strong>of</strong> Design: Little Giant Model #VCMA-15 ULS or approved equal.<br />

B. 1/2 gallon, ABS plastic condensate pump unit shall include vertical-type pump with stainless<br />

steel motor shaft, galvanized steel tank cover and integral float/switch assembly. Thermally<br />

protected motor shall be UL-listed. Pump shall feature a safety switch that can be wired to a<br />

DDC alarm to warn <strong>of</strong> possible tank overflow. Provide with check valve on pump outlet. Shut<br />

<strong>of</strong>f head shall be minimum 15 feet.<br />

PART 3 - EXECUTION<br />

3.01 INSTALLATION:<br />

A. Install units level and plumb.<br />

B. Install evaporator-fan components using manufacturer's standard mounting devices securely<br />

fastened to building structure.<br />

C. Install ground-mounting, compressor-condenser components on polyethylene mounting base.<br />

D. Install seismic restraints. Refer to SECTION 230548 - MECHANICAL VIBRATION AND<br />

SEISMIC CONTROL.<br />

E. Install compressor-condenser components on restrained, spring isolators with a minimum static<br />

deflection <strong>of</strong> 1 inch. Refer to SECTION 230548 - MECHANICAL VIBRATION AND<br />

SEISMIC CONTROL.<br />

F. Install and connect precharged refrigerant tubing to component's quick-connect fittings. Install<br />

tubing to allow access to unit.<br />

3.02 CONNECTIONS:<br />

A. Piping installation requirements are specified in other DIVISION 23 Sections. Drawings<br />

indicate general arrangement <strong>of</strong> piping, fittings, and specialties.<br />

B. Install piping adjacent to unit to allow service and maintenance.<br />

C. Ground equipment according to DIVISION 26.<br />

D. Electrical Connections: Comply with requirements in DIVISION 26 for power wiring,<br />

switches, and motor controls.<br />
