PART 2 - PRODUCTS<br />

2.01 FABRICATED MATERIALS:<br />

A. Outlet Boxes: Galvanized, coated, flat rolled, sheet-steel outlet wiring boxes, <strong>of</strong> shapes, cubic<br />

inch capacities, and sizes, including box depths as required, indicated, and specified, suitable<br />

for installation at respective locations. Construct outlet boxes with mounting holes and with<br />

conduit knockout openings in bottom and sides. Provide boxes with threaded screw holes for<br />

grounding screws, fastening devices, box covers, and for equipment grounding. Minimum box<br />

size shall be 4 by 4 by 1.5 inches, provide larger box if required, specified or indicated<br />

otherwise.<br />

B. Device Boxes: Galvanized, coated, flat rolled, sheet-steel nongangable device boxes, <strong>of</strong><br />

shapes, cubic inch capacities, and sizes, including box depths as required, indicated, and<br />

specified, suitable for installation at respective locations. Construct device boxes for flush<br />

mounting with mounting holes, with conduit knockout openings in bottom and sides, and with<br />

threaded screw holes for fastening devices and box covers. Provide corrosion-resistant screws<br />

for equipment grounding. Minimum box size shall be 4 by 4 by 1.5 inches, provide larger box<br />

if required, specified or indicated otherwise.<br />

1. Device Box Accessories: Provide as required for each installation, including mounting<br />

brackets, device box extensions, switch box supports, plaster ears, and plaster board<br />

expandable grip fasteners (use only in existing walls) which are compatible with device<br />

boxes being utilized to fulfill installation requirements for individual wiring situations.<br />

Choice <strong>of</strong> accessories is Contractor's code-compliance option.<br />

C. Weatherpro<strong>of</strong> Boxes: Corrosion-resistant, cast-metal, weatherpro<strong>of</strong>, outlet wiring boxes, <strong>of</strong><br />

types, shapes, and sizes, including depth <strong>of</strong> boxes as required with threaded conduit hubs for<br />

fastening electrical conduit. Provide cast-metal face plates with spring-hinged, watertight caps<br />

suitably configured for each application, including face plate gaskets and corrosion-resistant<br />

fasteners.<br />

D. Junction and Pull Boxes: Galvanized, code-gage sheet steel junction and pull boxes, with<br />

screw-on covers; <strong>of</strong> types, shapes, and sizes, to suit each respective location and installation;<br />

with welded seams and equipped with manufacturer's standard corrosion resistant steel nuts,<br />

bolts, screws and washers.<br />

E. Floor Boxes in Slab: Cast-iron, raintight, adjustable floor boxes as indicated, with threadedconduit-entrance<br />

ends and vertical adjusting rings, gaskets, brass floor plates with flush screwon<br />

covers with ground flange and stainless steel cover screws.<br />

1. Floor Boxes Accessories: Flush type, duplex, 2-pole, 3-wire, grounding, 125V,<br />

20 ampere, floor-type receptacles with flanges.<br />

F. Floor Boxes Raised Floor:<br />

1. The panel opening shall be 10 by 10 inches and have an overall module depth <strong>of</strong> 5 inches.<br />

The box must provide a total Device Wiring Chamber volume <strong>of</strong> at least 115 cubic<br />

inches. The total Box Volume capacity shall have a minimum <strong>of</strong> 358 cubic inches.<br />

2. The box lid shall be constructed <strong>of</strong> die-cast zinc materials, and shall also be removable<br />

and 180 degrees reversible. The lid shall provide a removable cable guard for egress <strong>of</strong><br />

power and communication workstation cables. The cable guard, when in use, should<br />

extend above the surface <strong>of</strong> the lid for the purpose <strong>of</strong> added protection <strong>of</strong> the workstation<br />

cables.<br />

3. The trim flange shall be constructed <strong>of</strong> die-cast zinc material and have a minimum overall<br />

dimension <strong>of</strong> 11-1/2 by 11-1/2 inches.<br />

4. The wiring chamber shall provide two separate compartments to accommodate power<br />

wiring on one side <strong>of</strong> the box and communication wiring on the other side. The chamber<br />
