SECTION 265000 - INTERIOR LIGHTING FIXTURES<br />

PART 1 - GENERAL<br />

1.01 SUMMARY:<br />

A. This Section specifies interior lighting fixture work as indicated on drawings and schedules.<br />

B. Types <strong>of</strong> interior lighting fixtures in this Section include the following:<br />

1. LED solid-state lighting.<br />

1.02 REFERENCES:<br />

A. Applicable Standards: Comply with applicable requirements <strong>of</strong> the following standards:<br />

1. Certified Ballast Manufacturers (CBM) - Provide fluorescent lamp ballasts which comply<br />

with Certified Ballast Manufacturers Association standards and carry the CBM label.<br />

2. Energy Policy Act <strong>of</strong> 1992 (EPACT) - Provide incandescent and fluorescent lamps that<br />

are in compliance with these efficiency standards.<br />

3. American National Standards Institute (ANSI)/Institute <strong>of</strong> Electrical and Electronic<br />

Engineers (IEEE):<br />

a. ANSI/IEEE C62.41-1991 - Recommended Practice for Surge Voltages in Low-<br />

Voltage AC Power Circuits.<br />

4. National Fire Protection Association (NFPA):<br />

a. 70 - National Electrical Code (NEC). Comply with applicable local code<br />

requirements <strong>of</strong> the authority having jurisdiction and the NEC.<br />

5. Underwriters Laboratories (UL): Provide interior lighting fixtures and components<br />

which are UL-listed and labeled.<br />

a. 57 - Electric Lighting Fixtures.<br />

b. 506 - Specialty Transformers.<br />

c. 486A - Wire Connectors and Soldering Lugs for Use with Copper Conductors.<br />

d. 542 - Lampholders, Starters, and Starter Holders for Fluorescent Lamps.<br />

e. 844 - Electric Lighting Fixtures for Use in Hazardous Locations.<br />

1.03 SUBMITTALS:<br />

A. Refer to DIVISION 01 and SECTION 260000 - BASIC ELECTRIC REQUIREMENTS for<br />

administrative and procedural requirements for submittals.<br />

B. Includes, but not limited to, the following:<br />

1. Product Data: Submit manufacturer's product data and installation instructions on each<br />

type <strong>of</strong> interior building lighting fixture, lamp, and component. Submit fluorescent lamp<br />

color in degrees Kelvin, color rendering index (CRI), and average lamp efficacy in<br />

lumens per watt. Submit ballast factor and total harmonic distortion (THD) for each<br />

ballast type.<br />

2. Shop Drawings: Submit fixture shop drawings in booklet form with a separate sheet for<br />

each fixture, assembled in "luminaire type" alphabetical or numerical order, with<br />

proposed fixture, lamp type, and accessories clearly indicated on each sheet. Submit<br />

details indicating compatibility with ceiling grid system.<br />

3. Wiring Diagrams: Submit wiring diagrams for interior lighting fixtures showing<br />

connections. Differentiate between portions <strong>of</strong> wiring which are manufacturer factoryinstalled<br />

and portions which are field-installed.<br />

4. Samples: Submit one complete operating unit (at no cost to the Contracting Officer) for<br />

each interior light fixture specified.<br />

5. Illumination Data: Provide fixture efficiency and coefficients <strong>of</strong> utilization. Provide<br />

recommended maximum spacing-to-mounting ratio. Provide candlepower distribution<br />
