SECTION 262416 - PANELBOARDS: continued<br />

Provide enclosures which are fabricated by the same manufacturer as panelboards, and which<br />

mate and match properly with panelboards. Provide panelboards with UL markings which<br />

indicate "suitable for use as service entrance equipment."<br />

C. Power Distribution Panelboards: Dead-front, safety type, power distribution panelboards as<br />

indicated with panelboard switching and protective devices in quantities, ratings, types, and<br />

with arrangement shown; with anti-turn solderless pressure type main lug connectors approved<br />

for use with copper conductors. Provide unit with incoming feeder connecting at top or bottom<br />

<strong>of</strong> panel as required. Provide 480Y/277V, 3-phase, 4-wire, 60 hertz panelboard with full-sized<br />

neutral bus; provide suitable lugs on neutral bus for incoming and outgoing feeders requiring<br />

neutral connections. Provide bolt-on, molded-case, main and branch circuit breaker types for<br />

each circuit with toggle handles that indicate when tripped. Where multiple-pole breakers are<br />

indicated, provide with common trip so overload on one pole will trip all poles simultaneously.<br />

Provide panelboard with bare uninsulated grounding bars suitable for bolting to enclosures.<br />

Provide enclosures fabricated by same manufacturer as panelboards which mate and match<br />

properly with panelboards.<br />

D. Lighting and Small Power Panelboards: Dead-front, safety type, 480Y/277V; 208Y/120V<br />

(voltage rating as required), 3-phase, 4-wire, 60 hertz; 200Y/115Vac, 400 hertz; and 28Vdc<br />

lighting and small power panelboards as indicated, with switching and protective devices in<br />

quantities, ratings, types, and arrangements shown; with anti-turn solderless pressure type lug<br />

connectors approved for use with copper conductors; construct unit for connecting incoming<br />

feeder at top or bottom <strong>of</strong> panel as required; Equip with full-sized neutral bar, with bolt-on<br />

type, heavy-duty, quick-make, quick-break, single- and multi-pole circuit breakers, with toggle<br />

handles that indicate when tripped. Where multiple-pole breakers are indicated, provide<br />

common trip for all poles. Provide suitable lugs on neutral bus for each incoming and<br />

outgoing feeder required; and provide bare uninsulated grounding bars suitable for bolting to<br />

enclosures. Provide insulated ground bus for isolated ground circuits that terminate or pass<br />

through the panelboard, as indicated. Provide enclosures fabricated by same manufacturer as<br />

panelboards, which mate and match properly with panelboards. Provide double neutral where<br />

indicated.<br />

E. Panelboard Enclosures: Galvanized sheet steel cabinet type enclosures, in sizes required,<br />

NEMA Type 1 (unless indicated or specified otherwise) and code gauge (minimum 16-gage)<br />

thickness. Construct with multiple knockouts and wiring gutters. Provide fronts with<br />

adjustable trim clamps and front doors with flush locks and three keys per panelboard, all<br />

panelboard enclosures keyed alike, with concealed piano front door hinges. Provide hinged<br />

doors over vertical wiring gutter. Equip with interior circuit directory frame and removable<br />

card with clear plastic covering. Provide baked gray enamel finish over a rust inhibitor<br />

coating. Design enclosures for recessed or surface mounting as indicated. Provide enclosures<br />

which are fabricated by same manufacturer as panelboards, which mate and match properly<br />

with panelboards to be enclosed.<br />

F. Molded-Case Circuit Breakers: Circuit breakers shall be manufactured by the panelboard<br />

manufacturer and shall be UL-listed to be installed in the panelboard. Factory-assembled, bolton,<br />

molded-case circuit breakers <strong>of</strong> frame sizes, characteristics, voltage, poles, RMS<br />

symmetrical interrupting ratings indicated and other ratings indicated. The minimum<br />

interrupting rating for 120Vac, 208Vac and 240Vac circuit breakers shall be 10,000 amperes,<br />

RMS symmetrical unless indicated otherwise. The minimum interrupting rating for 277Vac,<br />

480Vac and 600Vac circuit breakers shall be 14,000 amperes RMS symmetrical, unless<br />

indicated otherwise. All circuit breakers applied at 480Vac shall be rated 480Vac. All circuit<br />

breakers applied at 208 or 240Vac shall be rated 240Vac. Provide integral ground fault<br />

protection on all 480V service entrance main circuit breakers and all 480V feeder circuit<br />
