SECTION 238241 - WALL AND CEILING HEATERS
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.01 SUMMARY:
A. This Section includes wall and ceiling heaters with propeller fans and electric heating
elements.
1.02 REFERENCES:
A. Applicable Standards (Latest Edition):
1. NFPA:
a. 70 - National Electrical Code.
b. 90A - Installation of Air Conditioning and Ventilating Systems.
2. Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL):
a. 2021 - Fixed and Location-Dedicated Electric Room Heaters.
1.03 SUBMITTALS:
A. General: Submit each item in this Article in accordance with SECTION 230500 - BASIC
MECHANICAL MATERIALS AND METHODS.
B. Product Data: Include rated capacities, operating characteristics, furnished specialties, and
accessories.
C. Shop Drawings: Detail equipment assemblies and indicate dimensions, weights, loads,
required clearances, method of field assembly, components, and location and size of each field
connection.
1. Wiring Diagrams: Power, signal, and control wiring.
D. Samples for Color Selection: Finish colors for units with factory-applied color finishes.
E. Field quality-control test reports.
F. Operation and Maintenance Data: For wall and ceiling heaters to include in emergency,
operation, and maintenance manuals.
1.04 QUALITY ASSURANCE:
A. Electrical Components, Devices, and Accessories: Listed and labeled as defined in NFPA 70,
Article 100, by a testing agency acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction, and marked for
intended use.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.01 MANUFACTURED UNITS:
A. Basis of Design Product: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide Berko FRC Series
or a comparable product by one of the following or an approved equal:
1. Berko Electric Heating; a division of Marley Engineered Products.
2. Chromalox, Inc.; a division of Emerson Electric Company.
3. Indeeco.
4. Markel Products; a division of TPI Corporation.
5. Marley Electric Heating; a division of Marley Engineered Products.

B. Description: An assembly including chassis, electric heating coil, fan, motor, and controls.
Comply with UL 2021. Wall heater shall be recessed in wall cavity.
