3. Underwriters Laboratories (UL): Comply with applicable requirements <strong>of</strong> the following<br />

standards. Provide grounding and bonding products which are UL-listed and labeled for<br />

their intended usage.<br />

a. 467 - Electrical Grounding and Bonding Equipment.<br />

b. 486A - Wire Connectors and Soldering Lugs for Use with Copper Conductors.<br />

c. 869 - Electrical Service Equipment.<br />

4. Telecommunication Industry Association (TIA):<br />

a. J-STD-607-A - Commercial Building Grounding (Earthing) and Bonding<br />

Requirements for Telecommunications.<br />

1.03 SUBMITTALS:<br />

A. Refer to DIVISION 01 and SECTION 260000 - BASIC ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS for<br />

administrative and procedural requirements for Submittals.<br />

B. Includes, but not limited to, the following:<br />

1. Product Data: Submit manufacturer's data on grounding and bonding products and<br />

associated accessories.<br />

2. All field test reports.<br />

PART 2 - PRODUCTS<br />

2.01 GROUNDING AND BONDING:<br />

A. Materials and Components:<br />

1. General: Except as otherwise indicated, provide electrical grounding and bonding<br />

systems indicated; with assembly <strong>of</strong> materials, including, but not limited to, cables/wires,<br />

connectors, solderless lug terminals, grounding electrodes, bonding jumper braid, surge<br />

arresters, and additional accessories needed for a complete installation. Where more than<br />

one type component product meets indicated requirements, selection is Contractor's codecompliance<br />

option. Where materials or components are not indicated, provide products<br />

which comply with NEC, UL, and IEEE requirements and with established industry<br />

standards for those applications.<br />

2. Conductors: Unless otherwise indicated, provide insulated electrical grounding<br />

conductors for equipment grounding conductor connections that match power supply<br />

wiring materials and as a minimum are sized according to the NEC. Provide uninsulated,<br />

stranded, tinned, copper cable for ground electrode conductors.<br />

3. Bonding Plates, Connectors, Terminals, and Clamps: Provide electrical bonding plates,<br />

connectors, terminals, lugs, and clamps as recommended by bonding plate, connector,<br />

terminal, and clamp manufacturers for indicated applications.<br />

4. Ground Rods or Ground Electrodes:<br />

a. Ground Rods or Grounding Electrodes: Copper Clad, 3/4-inch diameter by 10 feet.<br />

b. Provide with threaded end to receive Aircraft Static Ground receptacle.<br />

5. Electrical Grounding Connection Accessories: Provide electrical insulating tape, heatshrinkable<br />

insulating tubing, welding materials, bonding straps, as recommended by<br />

accessories manufacturers for type service required or indicated.<br />

6. Field Welding: Provide exothermic welded connections where grounding conductors<br />

connect to underground grounding conductors and underground grounding electrodes.<br />

7. Aircraft Static Ground Receptacle: Provide Cast Bronze threaded to receive 3/4-inch<br />

sectional ground rod.<br />
