14. Bequest <strong>of</strong> Edward H. Schlader: the will <strong>of</strong> the late Edward H.<br />

Schlader provided that his estate be held in trust with the income<br />

to be used to establish the Schlader Memorial Scholarships in<br />

Engineering at the University <strong>of</strong> Illinois in memory <strong>of</strong> Theodore<br />

H. Schlader, Class <strong>of</strong> 1885 (reported to the Board November 28,<br />

1956, minutes page 156).<br />

15. Estate <strong>of</strong> Victor S. Yarros: the trust agreement, established by<br />

the late Victor S. Yarros in 1949, amended in 1950, provided for<br />

termination <strong>of</strong> the trust upon his death and distribution <strong>of</strong> the<br />

assets among various beneficiaries, including the University <strong>of</strong><br />

Illinois. The estimated amount the University will receive will<br />

be between $30,000 and $40,000. The University has received<br />

annual contributions <strong>of</strong> $300 from this trust since 1949 for the<br />

Rachelle S. Yarros Scholarship Fund. The funds from the trust<br />

estate have been set up as an endowment, the income to be used<br />

for scholarships to deserving and needy students in the College<br />

<strong>of</strong> Medicine 30 000 00<br />

Summary <strong>of</strong> 1056 Achievement Fund<br />

The income <strong>of</strong> the Mini Achievement Fund <strong>of</strong> the University for the calendar<br />

year 1956 amounted to $144,958.37. Of this total $114,126.09 was received in sums<br />

designated for specific projects, and $30,832.28 was received in undesignated<br />

gifts.<br />

All allocations <strong>of</strong> undesignated gifts were made by the Board <strong>of</strong> Directors<br />

<strong>of</strong> the University <strong>of</strong> Illinois Foundation with the approval <strong>of</strong> the University<br />

administration. The following summary shows the distribution <strong>of</strong> 1956 income:<br />
