MINUTES APPROVED<br />

The Secretary presented the minutes <strong>of</strong> the meetings <strong>of</strong> the Board <strong>of</strong><br />

Trustees on February 18, 1958, and March 11, 1958, press pro<strong>of</strong> copies<br />

<strong>of</strong> which have previously been sent to the Board.<br />

On motion <strong>of</strong> Mrs. Watkins, these minutes were approved as<br />

printed on pages 1103 to 1171, inclusive.<br />

BUSINESS PRESENTED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNIVERSITY<br />

The Board took up consideration <strong>of</strong> the following reports and recommendations<br />

from the President <strong>of</strong> the University.<br />

APPOINTMENTS TO THE FACULTY<br />

(1) The following new appointments to the faculty <strong>of</strong> the rank <strong>of</strong> Assistant<br />

Pr<strong>of</strong>essor and above, and involving tenure, have been approved since the previous<br />

meeting <strong>of</strong> the Board <strong>of</strong> Trustees.<br />

1. JACK V. BAIRD, Assistant Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Agronomy (Soils Extension), beginning<br />

July 15, 1958, at an annual salary <strong>of</strong> $7,000 (BY).<br />

2. MICHAEL P. BRITTON, Assistant Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Plant Pathology (Extension),<br />

beginning July 1, 1958, at an annual salary <strong>of</strong> $7,000 (BY).<br />

3. EDWARD W. ERNST, Associate Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Electrical Engineering, beginning<br />

September 1, 1958, at an annual salary <strong>of</strong> $9,000 (A).<br />
