win Avenues), at a price <strong>of</strong> $20,000, a down payment <strong>of</strong> $1,000 to be made<br />

immediately and the balance to be paid after July 1, 1957.<br />

These properties are within the area <strong>of</strong> future campus expansion.<br />

Memoranda describing each <strong>of</strong> them and explaining the need for their<br />

acquisition at this time, and a copy <strong>of</strong> the minutes <strong>of</strong> the meeting <strong>of</strong><br />

the Committee on Buildings and Grounds at which the Committee considered<br />

these land acquisitions have been filed with the Secretary <strong>of</strong><br />

the Board for record.<br />

President Henry stated that he concurs in these recommendations.<br />

On motion <strong>of</strong> Mr. Livingston, (a) the purchases <strong>of</strong> these properties<br />

at the prices and on the terms indicated were authorized; (b) an<br />

appropriation <strong>of</strong> $4,000 was made from the General Reserve Fund for<br />

the down payments; and (c) the Comptroller and Secretary <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Board were authorized to execute the necessary contracts and other<br />

documents relating to this land acquisition program. These actions<br />

were taken by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Bissell, Mr. Herrick, Mrs.<br />

Holt, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Livingston, Mr. Megran, Mr. Swain, Mrs.<br />

Watkins, Mr. Williamson; no, none; absent, Mr. Nickell, Mr. Stratton.<br />
