to the College <strong>of</strong> Pharmacy Advisory Committee:<br />

REED HENNINGER, Riverside, Illinois, for the term ending July I, 1962<br />

PAUL FREEMAN, Franklin Park, Illinois, for the term ending July 1, 1959<br />

Mr. Parks' appointment is for a full five-year term; the other appointments are<br />

to fill existing vacancies.<br />

On motion <strong>of</strong> Mrs. Watkins, these appointments were approved.<br />

AWARD OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT CERTIFICATES<br />

(3) The Committee on Accountancy recommends that the certificate <strong>of</strong> Certified<br />

Public Accountant be awarded, under Section 5 <strong>of</strong> the Accountancy Act<br />

<strong>of</strong> 1943, to the following candidates who have presented evidence that they are<br />

holders <strong>of</strong> valid and unrevoked Certified Public Accountant certificates obtained<br />

by passing a standard written examination in another state or territory<br />

<strong>of</strong> the United States and who qualify in all other respects under this provision<br />

(4) I recommend the appointment <strong>of</strong> Dr. Gilbert Y. Steiner, Research Associate<br />

Pr<strong>of</strong>essor in the Institute <strong>of</strong> Government and Public Affairs and Assistant<br />

Dean <strong>of</strong> the Graduate College, as Research Associate Pr<strong>of</strong>essor on indefinite<br />

tenure, and Director <strong>of</strong> the Institute <strong>of</strong> Government and Public Affairs for<br />

the period June 1, 1958, to September 1, 1959, at an annual salary <strong>of</strong> $13,000 on<br />

"Y" basis.<br />

This appointment has been recommended by a search committee appointed<br />

for this purpose. The Executive Committee <strong>of</strong> the Institute, the Vice-President<br />

and Provost, and the Dean <strong>of</strong> the Graduate College join in this recommendation.<br />

I concur.<br />

HEADSHIP OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ANIMAL SCIENCE<br />

(5) The Dean <strong>of</strong> the College <strong>of</strong> Agriculture recommends the appointment <strong>of</strong><br />

Dr. 0. Burr Ross as Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Animal Science on indefinite tenure, and as<br />

Head <strong>of</strong> the Department <strong>of</strong> Animal Science in the College <strong>of</strong> Agriculture, in the<br />

Agricultural Experiment Station, and in the Extension Service in Agriculture<br />

Mid^Home Economics, beginning July 1, 1958, at an annual salary <strong>of</strong> $16,350<br />

on "Y" basis.
