1LLINI ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS<br />

(9) The University <strong>of</strong> Illinois Alumni Association has established a program <strong>of</strong><br />

alumni awards according to the following plan:<br />

I. An Achievement Award for the alumnus "who has attained outstanding success<br />

and distinction in his field <strong>of</strong> endeavor."<br />

A. No more than five awards shall be made each year for the first three<br />

years, and a maximum <strong>of</strong> three awards annually thereafter.<br />

B. The award shall be made at the June commencement exercises at Urbana-<br />

Champaign.<br />

C. The President <strong>of</strong> the University shall present the award and the President<br />

<strong>of</strong> the Alumni Association shall read the citation.<br />

D. A Hall <strong>of</strong> Fame shall be designated in a prominent and appropriate place<br />

on campus where a framed picture <strong>of</strong> each alumnus receiving this award,<br />

with suitable caption describing his achievement, will be displayed.<br />

II. A Loyalty Award for the alumnus "who has continued his active interest in<br />

and loyalty to the University."<br />

A. Not more than one award shall be made annually by each Alumni Club.<br />

B. The award shall be made at an appropriate dinner meeting with suitable<br />

ceremony.<br />

C. The award shall be presented by the President <strong>of</strong> the University, the<br />

President <strong>of</strong> the Alumni Association, the Executive Director or Field<br />

Representative <strong>of</strong> the Alumni Association, or some other <strong>of</strong>ficial <strong>of</strong> the<br />

University, or by the local Alumni Club President.<br />

III. Merit Award for an alumnus out <strong>of</strong> the University fifteen years or less "who<br />

has served the University faithfully and well."<br />

A. Not more than one award shall be made annually by each Alumni Club.<br />

B. The award shall be made at an appropriate dinner meeting with suitable<br />

ceremony.<br />

C. The award shall be presented by the President <strong>of</strong> the University, the<br />

President <strong>of</strong> the Alumni Association, the Executive Director or Field<br />

Representative <strong>of</strong> the Alumni Association, or some other <strong>of</strong>ficial <strong>of</strong> the<br />

University, or by the local Alumni Club President.<br />

IV. Outstanding Leadership Award to the top senior man and woman student.<br />

A. The award shall be made each academic year.<br />

B. The award shall be made at the Mini Union "100" Banquet.<br />

C. The award shall be presented by the President <strong>of</strong> the University and the<br />

citation read by the President or the Executive Director <strong>of</strong> the Alumni<br />

Association.
