MINUTES APPROVED<br />

The Secretary presented the minutes <strong>of</strong> the meetings <strong>of</strong> the Board <strong>of</strong><br />

Trustees on December 17, 1957, and January 16, 1958, press pro<strong>of</strong><br />

copies <strong>of</strong> which have previously been sent to the Board.<br />

On motion <strong>of</strong> Mr. Swain, these minutes were approved as printed<br />

on pages 1005 to 1101, inclusive.<br />

BUSINESS PRESENTED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNIVERSITY<br />

The Board took up consideration <strong>of</strong> the following reports and recommendations<br />

from the President <strong>of</strong> the University.<br />

AWARD OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT CERTIFICATES<br />

(1) The Committee on Accountancy recommends that the certificate <strong>of</strong> Certified<br />

Public Accountant be awarded, under Section 5 <strong>of</strong> the Accountancy Act <strong>of</strong> 1943,<br />

to the following candidates who have presented evidence that they are holders <strong>of</strong><br />

valid and unrevoked Certified Public Accountant certificates obtained by passing a<br />

standard written examination in another state or territory <strong>of</strong> the United States<br />

and who qualify in all other respects under this provision <strong>of</strong> the law.<br />

September 1, 1958, at an annual salary <strong>of</strong> $7,200 (DY).<br />

2. ESTHER L. CHEATLE, Assistant Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Pathology, College <strong>of</strong> Medicine,<br />

and Assistant Director <strong>of</strong> Hospital Laboratories, Research and Educational<br />

Hospitals, beginning Mav 1, 1958, at an annual salary <strong>of</strong> $11,000 (DY45;<br />
