absence, without pay, two months beginning June 15, 1957, so that he may<br />

accept an invitation to teach at the University <strong>of</strong> Washington this summer.<br />

1, 1956.<br />

MEETING OF COMMITTEE ON BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS<br />

The Committee on Buildings and Grounds met in Chicago on February<br />

28 and considered a number <strong>of</strong> recommendations presented by the<br />

President and other University <strong>of</strong>ficials relating to the University's<br />

building program. Some <strong>of</strong> the items <strong>of</strong> business which were before<br />

the Committee were presented to the Board at today's meeting. The<br />

Secretary will file with the records <strong>of</strong> today's meeting the minutes <strong>of</strong><br />

the meeting <strong>of</strong> the Committee on Buildings and Grounds.<br />

President Henry stated that it would be desirable to have a meeting<br />

<strong>of</strong> the Committee on Buildings and Grounds prior to the next<br />

meeting <strong>of</strong> the Board. Until the Committee has been reconstructed.<br />

Mr. Livingston, Chairman <strong>of</strong> the 1956-57 Committee, will continue<br />

serving as Acting Chairman. He announced that a meeting would be<br />

called for March 28 in Chicago.<br />

APRIL AND MAY MEETINGS OF THE BOARD<br />

The Secretary called attention to the decision <strong>of</strong> the Board made at a<br />

previous meeting to hold its April meeting in Chicago, Illinois, on<br />

Thursday, April 18, 1957, at an hour and place to be fixed by the<br />

President and the Secretary.<br />

On motion <strong>of</strong> Mr. Swain, the Board voted to hold its Ma}' meeting<br />

at Urbana on Tuesday, May 28, 1957.<br />

On motion <strong>of</strong> Mr. Swain, the Board adjourned.<br />
