A Saint-Pétersbourg, ville aux contours
féeriques, plus de 8500 enfants vivent
dans la rue, chassés de leur foyer par
des situations familiales difficiles, souvent
rythmées par la violence et l’alcool.
Nastja et Mischa, 22 ans, Danja, 6 ans,
et Igor, 11 ans pour diverses raisons sont
de ceux-là. Verena Endtner les a suivis
pendant un an, et ainsi fréquemment
retrouvés à des moments charnières
de leur existence, face à des décisions
ardues et aux lourdes conséquences.
Au coeur de cette histoire toutefois se
trouve aussi le cirque Upsala, fondé par
la généreuse Larissa, qui s’efforce avec
enthousiasme et pugnacité de sortir ces
enfants des rues et de leur marginalité,
pour leur insufler de nouveaux espoirs
et envies. Ce film plein de tendresse,
accompagne le cirque en tournée en
Suisse, et ces jeunes qui parfois trébuchent
ou s’égarent. Dévoilant un portrait
cru de la société russe, Glückspilze
évoque avant tout une volonté de
croire que tout est possible, grâce à
des initiatives humaines et pleines de
perséverance.
Im märchenhaft anmutenden Sankt
Petersburg leben mehr als 8.500 Kinder
auf der Strasse, die ihr Zuhause aufgrund
schwieriger familiärer Situationen
verlassen mussten, die zumeist
von Gewalt und Alkohol geprägt sind.
Nastja und Mischa, 22 Jahre, Danja,
6 Jahre und Igor, 11 Jahre, zählen aus
unterschiedlichen Gründen zu diesen
Kindern. Verena Endtner ist ihnen ein
Jahr lang gefolgt und hat sie häufig
in Schlüsselmomenten ihres Lebens
getroffen, wenn sie vor schwierigen und
folgenreichen Entscheidungen standen.
Ein weiteres zentrales Element dieser
Geschichte ist der von der grossherzigen
Larissa gegründete Zirkus Upsala,
die sich enthusiastisch und kämpferisch
dafür einsetzt, diese Kinder von
den Strassen und aus der Marginalität
zu holen und neue Hoffnung und neue
Perspektiven zu wecken. Ein zärtlicher
Film, der die Tournee des Zirkus in der
Schweiz und die jungen Leute begleitet,
die manchmal straucheln oder vom Weg
abkommen. Glückspilze zeichnet ein
rohes Bild der russischen Gesellschaft
und rückt vor allem den Glauben daran
ins Licht, dass mit Initiative und Ausdauer
alles möglich ist.
In the fairytale city of St. Petersburg, over
8,500 children live on the streets, driven
from their homes by difficult family circumstances
often marked by violence
and alcohol abuse. Among these children,
for various reasons, are Nastja and
Mischa, 22 years old, Danja, 6, and Igor,
11. Verena Endtner followed them for a
year, frequently encountering them at
pivotal moments of their existence, facing
arduous decisions and serious consequences.
However, at the heart of this
story also lies the Upsala circus, founded
by the generous Larissa, who enthusiastically
and belligerently tries her utmost
to get these children off the streets and
away from the fringes in order to infuse
them with new hopes and longings.
This tender film accompanies the touring
circus through Switzerland and the
youngsters who at times stumble or get
lost. Unveiling a gritty portrait of Russian
society, Glückspilze conjures up, above
all, a willingness to believe that anything
is possible, thanks to human initiatives
marked by perseverance.
