(LP)
Theodor ist ein alter Mann. Er nimmt sich
Zeit für das, was er zu tun hat und ist
dabei ebenso friedlich wie entschlossen.
Er untersucht sein Fahrrad und beginnt
seine tägliche Fahrt durch die Felder an
einem strahlenden Frühlingstag, genau,
wie er es auch in einem Schneesturm
im Winter tun würde. Sein Ziel ist eine
Bank im Dorf, wo Menschen jeden
Alters auf den Bus warten, sich treffen,
reden, spielen. Die Bank ist ein lebendiger
Fleck im Dorf. Sie ist Theodors
Lieblingsort. Von hier aus betrachtet er
die Welt durch seine Brille. «Theodor
(LP)
Theodore is an old man. He takes his
time in doing what he has to do, but is
as peaceful as determined. He examines
his bike and starts his daily trip through
the fields on a radiant spring day, just as
he does in the middle of a snow storm in
winter. His arrival point is a bench in the
village, where people of all ages wait for
the bus, and also meet, talk, play. It is a
living spot of the village. It is Theodore’s
favorite spot. It is from there that he
watches the world through his glasses.
“Every day, come rain or shine, Theodore
used to bike the seven kilometers from
his house to the village centre to sit and
drink beer at the bus stop. For him, no
doubt, this place was the centre of the
Universe. With his death, the centre has
moved elsewhere, and the bus stop is
just a bus stop again.” (LP)
