jeff silva
Jeff Silva est un artiste, un enseignant
et un commissaire d’exposition basé à
Boston. Il a étudié le cinéma et la photographie
à l’Ithaca College de New York
et a obtenu un master en arts visuels
du Vermont College of Fine Arts, à
Montpelier. Ses films et ses installations
ont été exposés internationalement
lors de festivals, ainsi que dans des
galeries et des musées, y compris à la
Quinzaine du documentaire du MoMA,
la Viennale, Visions du Réel, Valdivia
International Film Festival, Flahertiana
et DocAviv. Il a travaillé comme assistant
à l’Université de Harvard de 2006
à 2009. Il y a enseigné et a contribué à
élaborer le programme pour le Sensory
Ethnography Lab (laboratoire d’ethnographie
sensorielle) avec Lucien Taylor ;
un programme d’anthropologie visuelle
basé sur la pratique, qui explore les
interstices entre l’art, l’anthropologie et
le cinéma documentaire. Il est actuellement
professeur de cinéma à la School
of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) à
Boston, et travaille sur trois nouvelles
productions de longs métrages qui

Jeff Silva ist ein in Boston lebender

Jeff Silva is an artist, teacher, and curator
based in Boston. He studied Cinema
and Photography at Ithaca College
and received a Master in Visual Arts

-based program of visual anthropology
exploring the interstices of art, anthropology
and documentary film. Currently,
Silva is a professor of film at the School
of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA)
and is in production on three new feature
projects that explore the threshold
between documentary, contemporary art
and fiction film.
