Trois célibataires d’un certain âge vivant
à la campagne tuent le temps au cœur
d’une nature semi-sauvage, préférant
la compagnie des oiseaux et des poissons
du vivier à celle des hommes. « J’ai
reçu un spam disant ‘Or en poudre à
vendre’. J’ai récité ces mots comme un
poème: or, poudre et vendre. Jusqu’à
ce que je me prenne à imaginer, en
référence à des textes de théoriciens
du cinéma, que j’étais influencée par
quelque chose, comme l’effet Kuleshov
(certains appellent ça l’effet Eisenstein):
deux images créent la troisième. Dans
ce cas, les trois mots créent tout. Ou
trois hommes créent tout. Que l’eau est
mouillée, le matin tôt et l’écart entre la
puanteur et le parfum une réalité. Et
qu’occasionnellement, au moins, chacun
devrait se lever et sortir de son quotidien.
Sans aller trop loin, mais là où il y a des
gens, des oiseaux, de l’herbe, des arbres,
du travail, des vacances, des joies, des
peines, courir, s’arrêter. Ce film est certainement
plutôt très simple que très
compliqué. Il parle de notre conception
physique et spirituelle du monde. Il parle
du fait que les être humains existent.
Mais aussi les oiseaux, et le brouillard,
le soleil, la nuit, etc. Il rappelle que tout
existe.» (LP)
Drei ältere, auf dem Land lebende
Singles, die ihre Zeit in der halbwilden
Natur verbringen und den Vögeln
und den Fischen im Teich näher sind
als den Menschen. «Ich habe ein Spam
‘Gold Dust Sold’ erhalten. Diese Worte
rezitierte ich wie ein Gedicht – Gold,
Dust und Sold. Bis ich mich selbst
dabei ertappte, wie ich – ausgehend
von filmtheoretischen Texten – dachte,
dass ich von etwas Ähnlichem wie dem
Kuleschow-Effekt (manche nennen
es Eisenstein-Effekt) beeinflusst bin,
laut dem zwei Bilder das dritte hervorbringen.
In diesem Fall bringen die drei
Wörter alles hervor. Oder drei Männer.
Dass das Wasser nass ist, der Morgen
früh und der Raum zwischen Gestank
und Geruch real. Und dass man hin und
wieder aufstehen und aus seinem Alltag
ausbrechen sollte. Um zumindest dorthin
zu gehen, wo es Menschen, Vögel, Gras,
Bäume, Arbeit, Ferien, Freude, Sorgen,
Laufen und Stehenbleiben gibt. Vielleicht
handelt dieser Film auf eine eher
einfache als komplizierte Art und Weise
von unserem zugleich physischen und
spirituellen Verständnis der Welt. Er
handelt davon, dass es Menschen gibt.
Und Vögel, Nebel, die Sonne, die Nacht
– und so weiter. Davon, dass alles existiert.»

Three elderly country bachelors idle
away their time amidst semi-wild nature,
closer to birds and pond fish than to
humans. “I received a spam ‘Gold Dust
Sold’. I recited these words like a poem
– gold, dust and sold. Till I caught myself
at a thought, referring to film theorists’
texts, that I was influenced by something
like Kuleshov’s (others call it
Eisenstein’s) effect – two images create
the third one. In this case the three
words create everything. Or three men
create everything. That the water is
wet, the morning is early and the space
between stench and scent is reality. And
that at least occasionally one should
get up and leave one’s daily life. Not
go too far but where there are people,
birds, grass, trees, work, holidays, joys,
sorrows, running, stopping. Perhaps
this film is more very simple instead of
very complicated – about our physical
and spiritual understanding of the world
simultaneously. It is about the fact that
there are people. And also birds, and fog,
the sun, night and so on. That everything
