A qui les Israéliens doivent-ils leur prospérité
financière et leur confort de vie
Plutôt que des mythes sur le génie juif
ou le miracle de l’économie israélienne,
HaMaabada propose une vérité plus
dérangeante. Au cours de la dernière
décennie, le contrôle militaire israélien
de plus de 3,75 millions de Palestiniens
est devenu un facteur économique
clé de la richesse d’Israël. Depuis le
11 septembre 2001, des dizaines de
pays emploient la force militaire contre
la résistance civile et recherchent des
méthodes éprouvées dans cette nouvelle
forme de guerre. Les moyens
utilisés à l’occasion des incursions militaires,
des assassinats aériens et de la
surveillance permanente de l’ensemble
de la population palestinienne sont donc
massivement exportés à l’international :
des favelas brésiliennes aux frontières
et ghettos américains. Les chefs des
armées deviennent de gros clients pendant
qu’Israël s’est hissé à la quatrième
place mondiale des plus grands exportateurs
d’armes. Trafiquants d’armes, hauts
généraux et techniciens expliquent de
quelle manière l’occupation militaire
s’est transformée en un véritable « business
» national qui rapporte, aujourd’hui,
tellement d’argent à l’Etat d’Israël qu’il
ne peut pas se permettre de le perdre.

zu verdanken Anstelle des Rückgriffs
auf den Mythos des jüdischen Genies
oder das israelische Wirtschaftswunder
zeigt HaMaabada eine unbequemere
Wahrheit. Im vergangenen Jahrzehnt
hat sich die militärische Kontrolle von
3,75 Millionen Palästinensern zu einer
wirtschaftlichen Unternehmung entwickelt,
die eine Schlüsselrolle in Israels
Reichtum spielt. Seit dem 11. September
reagieren Dutzende Länder mit Militärgewalt
auf zivilen Widerstand und
suchen für diese neue Art der Kriegsführung
nach bewährten Methoden. Aus
diesem Grund werden die für die militärischen
Übergriffe, Ermordungen aus
der Luft und die 24-Stunden-Überwachung
der Bevölkerung Palästinas eingesetzten
Mittel aggressiv in die ganze
Welt exportiert: Anwendung finden sie
in den brasilianischen Favelas, in US-
Ghettos und an Grenzen. Wo militärische
Befehlshaber erfolgreiche Unternehmer
geworden sind, ist Israel zum viertgrössten
Waffenlieferant der Welt aufgestiegen.
Waffenhändler, hohe Generäle und
Techniker zeigen auf, wie sich die militärische
Besetzung zu einem nationalen
Geschäft entwickelt hat, das Israel so
viel Geld einbringt, dass es darauf nicht
mehr verzichten möchte. Der Krieg muss
weitergehen.
To whom do the Israelis owe their financial
prosperity and the comfort of their
lives Rather than myths about the
Jewish genius or the miracle of Israel’s
economy, HaMaabada offers a more
disturbing truth. In the past decade,
the Israeli military control over 3.75 million
Palestinians has become an economic
endeavour that is a key element
to the Israeli wealth. Since 9/11, dozens
of countries are applying military
force against civilian resistance and
are searching for well-tested methods
in this new form of warfare. Therefore
the means used in military incursions,
assassinations from the air and 24-hour
surveillance over the entire Palestinian
population are aggressively exported
worldwide: from Brazilian favelas to US
ghettos and borders. Military commanders
become successful contractors while
Israel has graduated to the world’s fourth
largest exporter of arms. Arms dealers,
high generals and technicians show the
trail that turned military occupation into a
national business enterprise that is now
bringing so much money to the state of
Israel that it cannot afford to lose it. The
war has to go on.
