Allen Dale<br />

Allen DALE, 72, Michigan City, brother of Mrs. Charles SMITH of <strong>Rochester</strong>, died<br />

Thursday afternoon. A native of Logansport, he was the retired owner of the Michigan City<br />

Granite Works. Services were to be conducted this afternoon at the Carlisle funeral home in<br />

Michigan City, with burial in Greenwood cemetery at Michigan City.<br />

Randall Hammel<br />

Randall Mark HAMMEL, 6 1/2 months old, son of William and Dianna RADER<br />

HAMMEL, R.R. 3, <strong>Rochester</strong>, died about 9:30 p.m. Friday at the family home.<br />

He was born June 28, 1969 in Woodlawn hospital. He is survived by the parents; a sister,<br />

Peggie Ann [HAMMEL]; a brother, Kenneth Wayne [HAMMEL], all at home; the maternal<br />

grandmother, Mrs. Leo (Pearl) HOSTETLER, South Bend; the maternal grandfather, William<br />

RADER, Eaton, O.; the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hal HAMMEL, R.R. 3, <strong>Rochester</strong>,<br />

and the paternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Laura HAMMEL, <strong>Rochester</strong>.<br />

Arrangements are pending at the Foster & Good funeral home.<br />

Monday, January 19, <strong>1970</strong><br />

Randall Hammel<br />

Private services were conducted in the Foster & Good funeral home at 2 p.m. today, for<br />

Randall Mark HAMMEL, 6 1/2 month-old son of William and Dianna RADER HAMMEL, who<br />

died Friday at his home.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Rev. Josef PALAT officiated. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here.<br />

Basil L. Allen<br />

Basil L. ALLEN, 55, 508 Clay street, died unexpectedly at his residece, of a heart attack,<br />

at 6:45 p.m. Saturday.<br />

Born July 15, 1914, in Carroll county, he was the son of Willis and Hattie KITCHEN<br />

ALLEN. His marriage was Oct. 14, 1937, at Delphi, to Frences IMLER. He had resided here for<br />

20 years, moving from Flora. He was a state highway inspector for nine years and also worked as<br />

an automobile salesman. He was a member of the Manitou Moose lodge and the Mount Olive<br />

Methodist church at Cutler.<br />

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. David (Janice) DLUZAK, <strong>Rochester</strong>, and<br />

Mrs. John (Vera) GATES, Fort Benning, Ga.; one granddaughter, Andrea GATES; a sister, Mrs.<br />

Dale (Wanda) SHONK, Flora; three brothers, Harold, Dorval, and Lawrence [ALLEN], all of<br />

Flora.<br />

Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home. <strong>The</strong> Rev.<br />

Laurence SMITH will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here. Friends may call at<br />

the funeral home.
